What is a microgrid?

A microgrid is a self-sufficient energy system that serves a discrete geographic footprint, such as a college campus, hospital, building complex, neighborhood, a small energy community or even a single home.
It can operate independently from the main grid (we call this off-grid mode) or as a controllable entity with respect to the main grid (on-grid mode).
Within microgrids are one or more kinds of distributed energy( solar PV, wind turbines, energy storage systems, generators) that produce its power. They are often designed to provide with green energy at the local level.

PROJECTS

500kW/1157KWh PV+ DG + BESS Microgrid Project in Dubai.

500kW/1157KWh PV+ DG + BESS Microgrid Project in Dubai

  • This is a set of“PV + BESS” integrated demonstration power station for the site office of Dubai Phase IV CSP +PV Project under construction. The optical storage demonstration power station will build a 400KW photovoltaic power generation system and a 1MWh level BESS system.
  • During the implementation of the project, the diesel generator set used for power supply of the Dubai Project Office before are also be intelligently transformed and connected to the new optical storage system, so as to build the project into an intelligent control power station integrated with“PV+BESS+Diesel”

1MW/1MWh microgrid project in Shantou, Guangdong for high salt fog environment.

  • The Shantou wind storage project in Guangdong is equipped with a 30 foot 1MWh BESS system, mainly used as an emergency backup power supply for enterprise power supply systems to improve power quality, wind power consumption in the factory area, and improve the reliability of enterprise power consumption.
  • As an emergency backup power source for enterprises, it can continuously supply power to important loads in the event of a power grid failure, ensuring the normal operation of important loads in the enterprise during peak hours and charging during peak and flat hours, which can reduce pressure on the power grid and delay the transformation time of the power grid
  • Energy storage can be combined with distributed power generation such as wind power, photovoltaic, or natural gas to form a regional microgrid and reduce load outage time.
